Australian Environmental Wastewater Solutions have successfully supplied and installed the new environmentally friendly “Ecomax” commercial effluent disposal system for Centennial Coal Airly Project in Cappertee NSW.

The project comprised the design and construction of a 150EP ( 20 K kl/day) wastewater treatment plant to treat the sewage and wastewater generated from the mine.

Australian Environmental Wastewater Solutions undertook the full detailed design, supply and installation and commissioning of the wastewater system.

After 2 years in the design and approval stage the construction and commissioning of the latest Ecomax plant from Australian Environmental Wastewater Solutions has been put into service.

Despite significant logistics issues and extensive restrictions because of the environmental concerns, Australian Environmental Wastewater Solutions were able to deliver the plant on schedule. Even with lost time due to several unforeseen circumstances, Australian Environmental Wastewater Solutions were able to construct and commission the plant in good time.

The criteria for the wastewater effluent system was to deliver an environmentally friendly wastewater treatment system, a system that was non mechanical, did not require chemicals, required a foot print that was small enough to fit within the restrictive nature of the mine site but most of all needed to deliver high treatment levels to protect the dams and waterways nearby. One other major advantage is the Ecomax is modular, it will allow for further increase of capacity with ease should the numbers of person on site grow.

The Ecomax effluent system delivered on all Centennial conditions and requirements it was also well supported by Lithgow Council.
